Why should I choose your stick-built home vs. modular?

In the past, the advantage of manufactured housing was lower cost. Because of our volume buying, we normally are able to build a custom home for the same price or less than a modular. We price our homes as a total package, except for site prep, so you know the complete price including basement, heat pumps, etc. from the start. Custom homes will typically appraise higher when complete than manufactured housing. The biggest advantage is, of course, the ability to customize the home any way you like, even after construction begins. Not only can you get what you want, but you won’t pay for what you don’t.

Do you provide financing for your homes?

We don’t finance “in house”, but have made arrangements with several local lenders who can handle your financing needs at our office, or even with just a phone call.

How much can I customize my home?

We are willing to customize our homes in any way that is structurally sound, or build from your plans. We have our own drafting and design departments so we can make changes quickly – and it’s all included in the price of your home.

How long does it take to build?

From the time we start, we will normally take 5-6 months to complete your home. There are factors such as complexity of your plan and difficulty of your lot that can affect the build time, which we can normally review with you before we start.

What if I have specific needs or wants for the materials in my home?

We are happy to accommodate our customers’ requests for any special materials or amenities. Our only requirement is that it is structurally sound.

Do you have building lots available?

In order to keep costs down, we do not keep an inventory of lots. We do have a working relationship with specific Realtors specializing in land that will help our customers find property at no cost to them.

What is included in your price?

Our price is for the home itself, complete including basement, heat pumps, painting, cleaning, ready to turn the key and move in. What is not included is the actual preparation of your lot – excavation, driveway, well, septic, etc. These costs will be different on every lot, but we are happy, without cost or obligation, to look at a lot you’re considering purchasing to determine those costs. We will handle all of the site work and it is done at cost.

Can we do some of the work ourselves to save money?

Many of our customers will choose to do some of the work themselves or by someone they know to save cost. We will credit the cost of the work and give you time to complete it. We only ask that the work is done in a timely manner so we can complete your home on time.

What is the Warranty on your homes?

We have the most complete Warranty package available. We provide a 15 year dry basement warranty, 10 year structural warranty and, most importantly, we warrant all workmanship for a period of 5 years after completion.
